Magdalena Piasecka

Advocate, mediator and medical law expert at the law firm.

She has been with Żyglicka i Wspólnicy since 2022.

She specialises in medical law. On a day-to-day basis, she provides legal assistance to patients regarding the enforcement of patients’ rights and the pursuit of claims for compensation arising from medical negligence. She also handles cases concerning the liability of medical staff for medical malpractice.

She represents clients before the courts and judicial authorities, as well as in claims settlement proceedings with insurers and before the Patient Ombudsman.

At the firm, she also provides comprehensive legal services to private healthcare providers, including their dealings with the National Health Fund (NFZ), as well as legal support for businesses in the beauty industry.

In 2019, she graduated with a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia in Katowice. She defended her master’s thesis entitled ‘A lawyer’s own investigation’ under the supervision of the head of the Department of Criminalistics at the University of Silesia, Prof. Tadeusz Widła, PhD.

She is a graduate of the Postgraduate Programme in Medical Law and Bioethics at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

She completed her legal training with the Katowice Bar Council.

She holds a certificate as an out-of-court mediator in civil, family and commercial matters.

She speaks English.

In her spare time, she enjoys mountain hiking, Pilates on reformers and backpacking.
