Without mask? No way! Unless the employer decides otherwise
The obligation to wear a mask has just come into force (we wrote about that here), and it has already been modified.
Since 2 December 2020, as a rule you still must cover your nose and mouth in the workplace if there is more than 1 person in the room.
However, this is not an absolute rule because the employer may decide otherwise.
If the employer believes that other means of protection applied in the workplace are sufficient, they decide to permit employees to work without masks.
In addition, the new regulations set forth explicitly that the nose and mouth can be uncovered during the consumption of meals and beverages at the workplace.
For sure, for the avoidance of misunderstandings and doubts, the employer may provide for all applicable rules for covering the nose and mouth in the company’s internal procedures.
