Polish Energy Summit – OSE GDAŃSK 2023
This year’s summit was dedicated to revising European energy policy.
On the first day, the ‘Amber of the Polish Energy Industry 2023’ Award Gala was held. This is an award given to individuals, institutions or companies for special activities in the field of security and development of the Polish economy and energy sector at home and abroad.
The gala was hosted by Izabella Żyglicka. This year, the statuette was awarded to the US Embassy in Poland for consistently recommending the implementation of new energy solutions in Poland in order to become independent from eastern influences, increase climate protection and improve the development of the Polish economy.
Wojciech Dąbrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, was also the laureate, awarded for his effective action to strengthen the security and control of the country’s critical infrastructure. On behalf of the President, the award was received by Lechosław Rojewski – Deputy President of the Management Board for Financial Affairs.
Izabella Żyglicka Attorney at Law, also moderated a panel on development, investment and innovation in the 2050 perspective (companies, local authorities, prosumers, RES, e-mobility, photovoltaics). Important topics were raised concerning the role and scale of the private sector in the energy industry, the role of local governments in the implementation of infrastructure projects and the topic of photovoltaics in the context of the scale of development of large farms and small prosumer installations.
Two days of debates on the future of energy will certainly bring important decisions to ensure Poland’s energy security.
