Legal Advisor Izabella Żyglicka at the „Towards success! Academy of family businesses” conference
On June 7th a conference „Towards success! Academy of family businesses” took place. It was held by Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RIG) in Katowice. Managing partner of our law form, legal advisor Izabella Żyglicka who also is a Commissioner for Entrepreneurs’ Rights by the RIG ran the panel „Domestic and international expansion – how to build a net of business connections”.
The participants have discussed the ability of family businesses to grow and reach international markets as well as have discussed if there are any internal barriers keeping them from doing so. Such barriers may consist of unwillingness to hire managers who are not family members and problems concerning intergenerational succession of a company. The participants have also agreed on a fact, that associating family businesses with conservatism is more of a myth than reality.
The conference was widely acclaimed. Many conclusions were drawn as a result and these conclusions will be put to use during VII European Congress of Small and Medium-Size Enterprises which will take place October 18th-20th in Katowice.
